Recent Chiropractic Media Trifecta
Chiropractic recently got props from huge positive exposure, all within 1 week from The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated and Working Mother. Hall of Fame receiver Jerry Rice figured prominently in the first 2 articles with the last touting the benefits of chiropractic care for pregnant women. Go to www.missionvillagechiropractic.com to read great testimonials from our patients on how great they feel after treatment from prenatal back pain.

Get your neck cracked and lower your blood pressure??
At first I was even skeptical of this report, but since this first surfaced several months ago it's been all over the news. ABC's Good Morn America own Dr. Tim Johnson (not exactly a huge chiropractic supporter!!!) ran a story on this and reported that it showed promise. A large scale study is now under way at my alma mater Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Ia. in conjunction with Mount Sinai Medical Center conducting medical studies on the impact of treating hypertension with upper cervical (neck) adjustment. Now, this is all well and good but this regimen must have a dose of reality to it and any regimen should also include a diet change and exercise along with life time wellness care in addition to specific treatment. Visit our website www.missionvillagechiropractic.com or www.blakelychiropractic.com for more info. Your neck pain mat be causing hypertension.

Soccer not a contact sport????
With World Cup fever dominating every corner pub and PTA conversation I began to look at this sport to determine just how safe it was for our kids to play. To say that this is a completely safe sport for kids of every age to play is not exactly true. Is it great exercise, yes! Is it a great team building attitude game , yes and yes! But watching it on video it is apparent that all kicks are not to the ball. There is also the dramatic collisions and outright falls on the keester. Upon further investigation I learned that per age group indoor carpet soccer resulted in the most injuries in players under the age of 15 (hard ground/cement floor). Now I'm not saying to pull your kids from this sport, it is great exercise and it gets them away from the TV and video games. But do consider having them seen by a chiropractor for periodic check ups as we are specialist in treating the types of injuries that can occur from this game and besides kids love to be adjusted, just ask them!!!!

Big Pharma Scam of Omega 3's
Don't you love it when big Pharma gets ahold of a good thing and tries to make a buck (actually, lots of bucks!!) off it. Now they have discovered how popular omega 3 is and in their infinite wisdom have incorporated it into a statin drug( Crestor etc.. ) to somehow make it more popular to take and feel less guilty that you are taking a Prescript. drug!!! Do yourself a favor.. exercise regularly, eat well and do take omega's but not at the outrageous price for script drugs. Also, try red krill. San Diego Auto Accident Injury Tip
Please be aware of all auto accident injuries when they occur, no matter how minor they may seem. More and more studies are indicating that even low impact collisions can result in potential soft tissue pain at a later date. Interesting fact..60% of the human body is soft tissue

Athletes and Chiropractic Care
Mindy Mylrea: Aerobics World Champion "We put a great deal of stress on our bodies, so chiropractic is very helpful."
Wade Boggs: Major League Baseball "Last year I used chiropractic and have been going ever since. I have been pain-free and feeling terrific. I swear by it. Now, it is just maintenance and keeping in line so the nerves don't touch."
Dan Schayes: Phoenix Suns "I use chiropractic as my main source of healthcare. I don't really go to medical doctors unless I need surgery."
Gerald Wilkins: NY Knicks "I didn't know how much I could improve until I started seeing a chiropractor. Since I've been in chiropractic, I've improved by leaps and bounds, both mentally and physically."
Evander Holyfield: Professional Boxer "I have to have an adjustment before I go in to the ring. It came to the point where I wanted an adjustment everyday. I do believe in chiropractic. I found that going to a chiropractor three times a week helps my performance. The majority of boxers go to that edge."
Irving Fryar: Miami Dolphins NFL "I definitely believe that chiropractic care has attributed to my fitness. I don't think I could maintain my level of play without chiropractic. When I get an adjustment I immediately feel better."
Fred Funk: PGA Tour "I do believe chiropractic care has really benefitted my game. Over the last three years, I feel I have become more exposed to, and knowledgeable about, the benefits of chiropractic for me and my game. I realize how your body can get out of balance, and chiropractic care helps relieve me."
Ritchie Rudolph: Professional Surfer "I surfed better than I have in a long time. With just those couple of adjustments, I was noticeable more flexible and had an incredible burst of energy."

Chiropractic Testimonial #2
"I am 86 years old. After I had broken my hip and had surgery, the pain in my back and side became very severe. The surgeon said I'd either have to repeat the surgery or rely on pain pills. A M.D. thought exercise would help. She sent me to a physical therapist. After several months I was given a series of exercises to practice. They got so painful; I had to stop doing them.
Then, my daughter took me to her chiropractor. He X-Rayed my back and told me I could be helped. He didn't know how long it would take, but if I was willing to try, he could help me. The pain was so severe; I could hardly get out of bed in the morning or up from a chair.
I am a victim of the disease, neurofibromatosis. I have curvature of the spine and unsightly nerve tumors all over my body. Chiropractic treatments have relieved my pain and reduced the tumors.
I started with 2 visits a week adn will soon need to come in only once a month. I wish I had started chiropractic care much sooner. I really was ready to give up. Now, I am a new man." Ted- Seattle, WA
