Chiropractic Myth vs. Reality

Cost of medical care is always a concern to most people, so I often hear that
"chiropractic is too expensive, I can't afford it" Well, let me tell you that in the Dec.2010 issue of JMPT (journal of manipulative and physiologic therapeutics) under "Cost of care for common back pain conditions initiated with Chiropractic doctor vs. Medical Doctor" supported with data from Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of Tennessee determined that paid cost for episodes of low back pain were 40% less when care was initiated with a Chiropractor compared with a medical doctor!!! So what this demonstrates is the value of chiropractic care for routine care at a time when we are attempting to reform a health care system and contain runaway costs. We also offer a complimentary consultation to determine if we can help you before you have to spend any money for treatment.

Chiropractic Myth vs. Reality

Myth # 2
Isn't Chiropractic really just the same as massage or physical therapy?
My response: Absolutely not!! Massage and P.T. is undoubtedly a fantastic adjunct to a chiropractic adjustment but far from the same thing in that chiropractic is the actual physical movement of vertebrae for the purpose of relieving nerve pressure or interference that is causing specific pain complaints that may include muscular involvement. When treating Personal Injury (PI) patients I relate to them the need for chiropractic care in that the 2 most common components of an injury involve the spine/nervous system and soft tissue (muscles, ligaments&tendons) and doing one without the other is only treating 50% of the injury, so that is why we offer both in our approach to treatment>
